Payment Methods

Paying at The Hairist should take a moment and leave no questions behind. This page sets out which methods we take, how your details are protected and what to do if a payment does not go through.

The options available to you are shown on the payment step of checkout; the exact selection can depend on your device and location.

How your payment is protected

Every transaction is handled by Shopify Payments, a PCI-DSS compliant provider. The connection between your browser and our checkout is SSL/TLS-encrypted from the first page to the last, and your full card number never touches our own servers: we do not store card details at any point.

Prices and charges

All prices on the site are in US dollars (USD). Before you confirm the order, checkout shows the complete total, including the product price and any applicable sales tax. Standard shipping is free on every order, and there are no fees added after the fact. Your card or account is charged when the order is placed.

After you pay

A confirmation email with your order number follows within a few minutes of a successful payment. If it has not arrived, look in your spam or promotions folder first; if it is still missing, write to support@thehairist.com and we will resend it.

If a payment is declined

• Check that the billing name, address and card details match what your bank has on file.
• Make sure the card has sufficient funds and has not expired.
• Ask your bank whether it has blocked the transaction, which sometimes happens with a first purchase from a new store.
• Try another of the methods listed above.
